Dr. Fisher recently travelled to Prague, in the Czech Republic. The purpose of his visit was to speak to a meeting of several hundred eye surgeons from across Europe. Dr. Fisher gave a series of talks on improving performance in cataract surgery with the used of new advanced technology intraocular lens implants (ATIOLs). Because of his experience with ATIOLs (also called Lifestyle Lenses), Dr. Fisher is frequently asked to address groups of eye surgeons and share his knowledge for using these new technologies successfully. “The meeting in Prague was excellent, with many very experienced surgeons from Europe in attendance,” according to Dr. Fisher. “There was a real interchange of knowledge that should benefit all of our patients, and it is always educational to see what our colleagues are doing elsewhere in the world.” Dr. Fisher also noted “Prague itself was beautiful. It is a very historic city with a lot to see and do. The people were very friendly and the weather was perfect.” Dr. Fisher was accompanied on the trip by his wife and their two children.

For example, wind, sand, smoke, allergies, hormones, Vitamin A deficiency, auto-immune disorders.

Dr. Fisher spoke at the recent American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons annual meeting in San Diego, California. During one of his talks, he discussed the results of a study he performed comparing the results of two of the new advanced technology intraocular lens implants used in cataract surgery. The talk was attended by approximately 1500 eye surgeons from throughout the United States and the rest of the world.

Dr. Fisher, along with the other doctors at the Eye Center of North Florida, frequently participates in important studies which help patients by improving the technology and techniques used in eye surgery. Dr. Fisher also spends time speaking to and teaching other physicians about advances in cataract surgery, and participates in a mentoring program to help other eye surgeons.
