Lift Those Brows

A forehead and eyebrow lift may be just what you need to improve your look. This procedure can help eliminate deep wrinkles or creases across your forehead. These wrinkles might be hereditary or the result of years of animated facial expressions.

Over time, forehead muscle hyperactivity can cause:

  • Horizontal lines
  • Glabellar lines (between the eyebrows)
  • Brow ptosis (drooping)

An eyebrow lift can give you a refreshed, more youthful looking appearance by reducing frown lines, elevating the position of your brow line, and uniformly smoothing your forehead.

Dr. Garland will perform this surgery by maneuvering your tissue and removing portions of skin and muscle causing the wrinkles and deep frown lines.

There are many methods to lift your forehead and eyebrow areas: the classic lift (coronal brow) and the endoscopic lift, direct brow lift, limited lateral brow lift, and browpexy through the blepharosplasty incision.

Classic Lift
This lift involves one continuous incision that starts at your ear level and goes up and around your hairline. Our surgeons will strategically place the incision to avoid a noticeable scar in the future. For example, if you are balding, our surgeons might make the incision mid-scalp.  It can also be placed at the hair line.

Endoscopic Lift
During the endoscopic life, instead of making one continuous incision, the surgeon will make several shorter incisions in your scalp. He and the surgical team will insert a scope (a small camera connected to a thin tube) into one of the incisions in order to see the tissues and muscles. Another device will be inserted simultaneously into another incision; this will make the alterations.

Small, mighty titanium anchors are one fixation technique, which will then be used to secure the tissue appropriately. These incisions are tiny, so the procedure is less invasive. Scarring is minimal and the recovery time is shorter than the classic lift, but the elevation is less.
