Advanced Monofocal implant
Aspheric lens implants are also “monofocal” because they help you see at one specific distance following cataract surgery. They differ from basic monofocal lens implants because they are crafted to eliminate visual aberrations that can cause glare and discomfort.

Their innovative design of aspheric lens implants offers improved sharpness and contrast, helping patients see in a variety of lighting conditions.

Aspheric lenses are ideal for anyone who:

  • Frequently drives at night, and has difficulty seeing
  • Wants to see clearly at long distances
  • Suffers from macular degeneration, glaucoma or other eye diseases
  • Does not mind wearing glasses to see at short distances

Farsight-Only Correction
While aspheric lens implants offer higher quality distance vision, like that required for driving, they do not correct presbyopia. So you will still need to wear glasses to read and clearly see objects within an arm’s reach.

Aspheric implants have a surface designed to modify your cornea’s refractive power. The corneal implant has a lens body formed from a clear, bio-compatible material that is similar to your natural corneal tissue.

More Costly
Aspheric lens implants are more expensive than standard implants, so insurance will  not  cover the expense to upgrade to these lenses. But for patients who want the best vision possible to see distances after having cataract surgery, this may be your best option.
