Eye Center of North Florida is proud to welcome board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist Dr. Julian Tokarev to our team of dedicated vision specialists!
Dr. Tokarev brings a strong clinical background in advanced vision care, specializing in refractive cataract surgery, interventional glaucoma and management of complex dry eye patients. His extensive surgical expertise includes phacoemulsification with premium intraocular lenses, glaucoma laser treatment, sustained intraocular drug delivery devices and microinvasive techniques to restore the eye’s natural pressure regulation system.
He is committed to providing high-quality, patient-focused care for a wide range of complex and comprehensive eye conditions.
Dr. Tokarev earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed a transitional year at Kaweah Delta Medical Center in California. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas in Houston. During medical school, he was honored as an Alpha Omega Alpha Carol L. Kuckein Student Research Fellow and was an American Medical Association Seed Grant Recipient for his research on focal ischemic stroke models. Dr. Tokarev earned his undergraduate degree in psychology and neuroscience from Carleton College.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Tokarev has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and presentations on a variety of topics, including ophthalmology, neurology and medical imaging. His work reflects a passionate commitment to advancing medical education and improving patient care.
Dr. Tokarev speaks both Spanish and Russian in addition to English, enabling him to effectively communicate with patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing tennis, watersports and cultivating Tillandsia air plants.
Dr. Tokarev will see patients at ECNF’s Panama City practice.
