Botox is a temporary method of improving the appearance of facial wrinkles, including crow's feet, forehead lines, and other fine lines. It works by using a small amount of a substance called botulinum toxin to block the signals from the nerves to the muscles, allowing them to relax and helping wrinkles look better.
Botox is usually best for patients if:
If you like how Botox makes you look, you should receive injections every three to four months to maintain your improved appearance. The beauty of Botox performed by Dr. Garland is that the effects are subtle, allowing you to look natural without anyone needing to know you had it.
Although Botox is usually used for cosmetic reasons, at Eye Center of North Florida, Dr. Garland will use it to treat hemifacial spasms in qualified patients. Hemifacial spasms occur when involuntary muscle contractions, often twitching, are on one side of the face.
Only some hemifacial spasms respond to Botox treatment, including those caused by nerve irritation or compression. It may not be as effective for hemifacial spasms due to other things like Parkinson's disease or dystonia.
Dermal fillers refer to substances injected beneath your skin to help increase lost volume, which improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases. These appear as a result of aging.
With age, the face begins losing volume and its fullness. Using dermal fillers makes the face look younger, smoother, and supple.
Restylane is a dermal filler that enhances the appearance of the face with hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that the body naturally produces that helps your skin look plump, hydrated, and healthy.
Restylane works because it attracts water to where it's injected, helping to fill in lines, wrinkles, creases, and other parts of the face that don't have sufficient volume. With more volume, skin looks younger, rejuvenated, and brighter.
Restylane injections may last between six to eighteen months. The length of time depends on the patient and the area treated. Using Restylane is an effective way of improving the appearance of the face without cosmetic surgery.
Another dermal filler derived from hyaluronic acid is Juvederm. Juvederm can help treat problem areas like the nasolabial folds, which are the lines that run from the nose to the mouth, as well as improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and enhance how the lips and cheeks look.
With Juvederm, you can increase the volume in the face, which may decrease due to aging or significant weight loss. Using Juvederm, you can look more youthful without resorting to more invasive techniques or procedures.

click hereThe Pelleve Wrinkle Reduction System is a non-invasive way of improving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The system uses radiofrequency waves to target the visible signs of aging due to loss of elasticity.
These include wrinkles, fine lines, and saggy skin. It can be used from the chin to the forehead. Using Pelleve tightens the skin by heating the skin to the dermal layer.
Heating skin to the dermal layer helps encourage the stimulation and production of new collagen. Using Pelleve reengages collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, allowing them to perform better, resulting in skin that looks and feels better. Skin looks younger, smoother, and more radiant after a Pelleve Wrinkle Reduction System treatment.
Most people choose Pelleve to help improve their skin's appearance without surgery. They may also want to maintain the results from a previous cosmetic procedure.
A blepharoplasty, also called eyelid surgery, is a procedure that improves how the upper or lower eyelids look. It removes fat and excess tissues from the lids while tightening necessary muscles to reduce bags, sagging, or drooping.
Many patients choose to have blepharoplasty for cosmetic purposes, as they can help reduce the severity of wrinkles, droopiness, and sagging under the eyes. With a blepharoplasty, you can look younger and more alert.
Other patients may need to have blepharoplasty for medical reasons. These patients have excess skin around the eyelids that can obstruct vision and the visual field. Getting blepharoplasty can make it easier to see and significantly improve their quality of life.
Dr. Garland will create a small incision in the eyelid's natural crease during the blepharoplasty procedure. Any scarring will be minimal as it's hidden in the natural crease.
He will then remove any excess skin and fat that may obstruct vision and tighten muscles in the surrounding area. You will be sedated with local anesthesia so that you won't feel any pain.
Good candidates for blepharoplasty are patients with realistic expectations about what the procedure can achieve. They are in good health and want to improve their appearance or remove excess skin to see better.
